Pride was produced by Pathe UK, Pathé, CBS Films, BBC FIlms, Proud Films, British Film Institute, Canal+, Ciné+ and Calamity Films.
Pride was distributed to the USA by CBS Films, and to the UK by 20th Century Fox. Various other distributors like Universum, Lumiére, Mozinet, etc. distributed the film in other European countries.
CBS Films is a sub-division of CBS Corporation, a multinational media conglomerate.
20th Century Fox is a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios, which is a division of The Walt Disney Company - Another multinational conglomerate.
I think that working with these distributors was very beneficial to Calamity Films because it allowed the film to reach much further internationally, which vastly increased box office sales and the film's public awareness. Since Calamity Films is a smaller independent company, they had to work together with other companies to help produce and distribute the film so that they could have the funding and resources to get the film out to the world.
