Visualising A Music Video

Visualising a music video for Fallout Boy - Centuries:

(Note - I have not seen the official music video)

The Style of the video will be narrative, depicting a series of events throughout history

The video would be set in various historical settings of war, mostly consisting of war-torn battlefields. The setting would correspond to the era in history that the current sequence is depicting.

The video would constantly cut between several separate narratives that all focus on a single fighter / soldier taking part in a war from varying points in history. My ideas for these would be:
-WWII soldier
-Viking Warrior
-Roman Gladiator
-Samurai
-Medieval knight on horseback
-Georgian musketman / rifleman with cannons

The shots of these narratives would be mostly action-packed, fast-paced fighting that is iconic of the era it is depicting. The video would glorify each character and portray them as a powerful, heroic force that is unstoppable.

The message of the video would correlate to the lyrics of the song, which are about striving for fame of legendary proportions. The video would motivate the audience to strive for something similar.

In terms of uses and gratifications, the audience would watch the video for personal development. The video would reflect the aspirations of the audience to be the best and be a legend. It could also be informative to an extent with some historical information embedded into the narratives (learning the typical clothing, weapons, location etc.)

Due to the historical nature of the video, it would be full of intertextual references from real historical events, as the narratives would be mostly historically accurate. It could also easily synergise with video games that are set in similar times as the ones depicted; this is because video games also often glorify the main character as a hero and legend and are also action-packed and exciting.
